Cold Shower = Turn on shower all the way to the coldest cold water and insert child (with clothes) for a minute.
It's a form of shock therapy really and I am ready to use it. We haven't yet, but it's coming. OH, is it coming.
Just the explanation of this form of punishment has Hayden quaking in his boots. He doesn't like water in general. He freaks out if he spills 3 drops on him from his own water glass. I have no idea why, but he does. He does fine in the swimming pool (he started lessons last week), but in general, he doesn't like to be wet. He has asked his friends if they have be subjected to this treatment...some have and they tell him it's definitely something to avoid (one story coming from a 3 1/2 year old girl that got a cold shower once...like 6 months ago- but OH she remembers).
So now he walks around saying, "I am trying really hard to be good because I don't want a cold shower". What a good boy. I hope I never have to give him one. But, it is nice to have a shocking form of punishment in your repertoire that doesn't impose physical harm him. I just don't understand the lesson taught to a child when you spank them- especially if you are spanking them because THEY HIT one of their friends. That just doesn't add up to me. I will keep you posted....
