We arrived at school and I was immediately told that it was picture day and I might want to hang around for that before skipping away. Lovely...I am glad I picked the mostly too small, grubby outfit that morning. I was thinking art projects...not class photos. UGH. Oh well...he's 2 and they don't need to be perfect.
After photos, I brought him back into the classroom and led him to the large motor area where they have the ride ons and slides and such. He went right for the little Cozy Coupe Car and hopped in for a ride. I said, "OK, Hayden, Mommy is going to leave now, but I will be back soon". He said, "BYE MOM!" as he was turning the car around and driving in the opposite direction. Well...good, this is going well so far.
So, I left. I turned the corner and look back into the window of the room he was in. He had gotten out of the car, and headed over to jump on the mini trampoline. His arms were flailing and his mouth was moving. I can only imagine some sort of "YEE HAW" was coming out of it! I think he will survive without me.
When I came to pick him up, my friend, Amy, who "worked" in the classroom that day, said he did great! She talked with him and he seemed to really enjoy himself. What a big boy!
I will leave him again next Friday and then the Friday after that is our Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch! This Preschool thing is fun! I am glad we signed up. -- mam
