Hayden has been "walking" in some form or another for months now. He has mastered cruising along the couches, tables, and chairs (and more recently, the walls), but he never got the nerve up to let go and make a "run" for it. He would take a few "steps" (which were more like stumbles) if we would face him towards the ottoman and guide him in that direction. It was more like he was falling into the ottoman, but it gave him the idea (I think) that he can move without holding onto anything.
We have also practiced with him "walking" in between the two of us. Sitting about 5 feet apart, we direct him towards the other person. He thinks this game is pretty funny, landing in our arms and giving us a big bear hug.
So, now the real work begins...Perfecting the independent walking and getting it on video!
Stay tuned... -- mam
