After reading far too many reviews, we decided on one that will last him until he is 60 lbs (which will hopefully be 4-5 years old, probably even older). After that, he moves to a bottom only booster until he is 100 lbs and after that, he can sit in the seat like the rest of us.

Here he is in his seat...making himself at home. He seems to be pretty comfortable in it, although it has taken some getting used to on our part (since we have to take him in and out of the seat at each stop, vs. the carrier which lifted out of the car and onto any shopping cart very easily). Now he gets to ride and see what's going on sitting up front in the shopping cart. He is growing up so fast! -- mam
