For the past week or so we suspected that he was getting close to exposing his first pearly white. He had a horrible night sleep on Tuesday night (waking nearly every hour, until midnight when we gave him Tylenol and then he slept in three hour blocks until morning). We gave him Tylenol before bed for the last three nights as a preventative measure and he has slept just fine.

This morning however, I noticed that he didn't want to eat very much (loss of appetite, I have read, is a sign of teething), so I stuck my finger in there just to see if I could feel anything (I have done this many times before with no luck). But this morning I struck gold! Or white! A sharp protrusion from his lower pink little gums. Dad confirmed this. Actually you can't see much of anything yet, but you can feel it and see a small dimple in his gums. I am sure over the next few weeks we will see it emerge fully and bring with it its neighbor. -- mam
