My Birthmother, Sandy, and her oldest daughter, Kristine, came to visit from October 6-12th. They live in NY, so it was quite the trek to come here to meet Hayden and see WA state for the first time. We saw the sights; Pike Place Market, the Waterfront/Wharf, Snoqualmie Falls, and Leavenworth during October Fest. We were even able to visit some of her extended family who live in Silverdale that she hasn't seen in over 20 years. We were busy most days, except for Friday when it rained and introduced them to typical fall weather in the Pacific Northwest. They seem to have enjoyed themselves and we sure enjoyed having them here.

I always thought that my child would be the first blood relative that I would ever know. So, to have this relationship with my birthmother and her family has been truly amazing. I never expected that my search for her would turn out so positively. Her entire immediate and extended family have been so unbelieveably supportive of our reunion. The three of us plan on traveling to NY next August to meet the rest of her family in person and introduce Cameron and Hayden to the "other coast" and all it has to offer. But, for now, we are just enjoying getting to know each other even more through emails and phone calls and of course we are always keeping her informed with pictures and updates on Hayden. -- mam
