We just returned from our 39 week doctor's appointment. I am now 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced and his head has come down just a little bit more. So...yes....I am so over this pregnancy right now. I haven't slept hardly at all the last 2 nights and I have entered the "I am officially uncomfortable" phase. But, no complaints....I am just ready to see our little guy and know that he is healthy and safe.

The doctor guessed his weight now to be between 7 and 7.5 pounds, so we'll see how close he is! His heartrate was about 150bpm, and I measured 37 cm again and I haven't gained any weight since last week (I actually lost a pound, which is normal at the end of pregnancy). He said that everything is coming along well and that it could be anytime now. So, once again...we wait! :-)

I have had a few strong contractions in the past couple of days, and I had quite a few last night (and I am actually having one now as I write this post), so things are gearing up in there. I hope it will be sooner rather than later that he shows us his little face...he seems to be making himself pretty cozy in there...but as far as we are concerned, he could come any time! -- mam
